Waddell& Reed InvestEd 529 Plan–
Investment Options
The InvestEd Plan offers three "age-based"
portfolios designed to accommodate your ongoing needs.
Your beneficiary will grow and change over time, and so should your
investments. When your child, or other beneficiary, is very young,
you have a longer time horizon and will likely want to be more aggressive
with your investments. As time passes, you will probably become more
risk averse in an effort to conserve more of your assets and generate
income. With InvestEd, you are free to choose any of the three portfolios,
and you have the option to move from one portfolio to another one
time within each 12-month period or at any time if naming a new beneficiary.
However, you also have the option of taking advantage of the age-based
design, allowing your investment to automatically change as your child
grows.
When your beneficiary is between infancy and age eight, it would be
allocated to the Growth Portfolio. Between ages nine and 15, to the
Balanced Portfolio, and to the Conservative Portfolio above age 15.
The design of these portfolios gives you the benefit of adaptability
as time passes, while allowing you to tap the expertise of some of
the most astute minds in the industry.
