 Review your ECAP with your school counselor.
 Review your schedule to make sure you are taking the necessary classes to prepare for college entrance.
 Take as many Advanced Placement (AP) classes as possible.
 Register for dual enrollment if available at your high school/ community college.
 Register for and take the NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test).
Register for the ACT and/or SAT.
 Investigate the availability of financial aid by attending "College Nights" at your high school.
 Attend college fairs and visit college campuses / arrange for tours during the summer.
Explore summer job or internship opportunities.
 Make sure your class schedule for your senior year is complete and accurate.
 If considering the military, work with your representative to explore your options and pay attention to deadlines.
Create or update your resume.
 Ask for letters of reference from your summer jobs, internships, and activities.
Update your portfolio and add the new experiences.
