Should I Attend?
If you are thinking about enrolling in college for the 2012-2013 academic year and you need help in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) then, yes. If you are not 100% sure where you are going to enroll it is okay you can still complete the FAFSA.
If you are a freshmen, sophomore or junior in high school, then attending the in-person College Goal Sunday & Saturday Too! event will not be a benefit to you right now. However, you can check out the “Resources” link for some helpful information.
Do I Need to Pre-Register for the In-Person Event?
Pre-registration is not needed. You simply attend the site of your choice.
What Do I Need to Bring?
Students (and parents where appropriate) need to bring the following information in order to complete the FAFSA.
- 2011 Federal Tax Return, W-2 or other income information (social security benefits, veteran’s benefits, etc.)
- 2011 Year End Bank Statement (checking, savings)
- 2011 business and investment information (farm records, business records, 2nd home mortgage, stocks, bonds, etc.)
- Social Security Number
- Alien Registration Card (if you are not a U.S. Citizen)
- Driver’s license (if applicable)
- FAFSA PIN #
I don’t have my 2011 tax information at this time. Can I still complete the FAFSA?
Yes, you can use your 2010 tax information as an estimate on your FAFSA. Once you have completed your 2011 taxes you will need to go back and correct/update the tax information on the FAFSA.
